Fort Lauderdale, Florida Sep 26, 2025 (Issuewire.com) - The Salvation Army of Broward County launched its annual Angel Tree Program, a beloved holiday tradition that connects families facing financial hardship with individuals and organizations eager to provide toys during Christmas. The program is now open for two distinct groups: families seeking to register their children for assistance and community members looking to "adopt" an angel.
For Families Seeking Christmas Assistance
How Families can Register their Child:
Families with children ages 10 and younger can register for the program online.
For Donors: How to Adopt an Angel and Make a Difference
Meet the Children You Can Help: Like Thomas and Daysha, thousands of children in Broward County are waiting for an 'angel' to make their holiday wishes come true.
Ways to Get Involved:
The Angel Tree program transforms our community into one big family during the holidays, said Lilly Gallardo, Director of Program Services of The Salvation Army of Broward County. These angels are not just names on paper; they are real children living right here in our community. They are your neighbors. Each adoption is more than a gift; its hope, dignity, and a reminder to families that they are not forgotten.
Every angel adopted is a Christmas promise kept to a child and a heavy burden lifted from a parent, said Major Juan Guadalupe, Area Commander. Our donors and volunteers do more than give presents. They give families memories that last a lifetime.
Last Years Impact In 2024, the community's generosity made a tremendous impact. The Angel Tree program served 3,453 local children and distributed almost 7,000 toys.
